These I would love to grow! Pudica
Fritillaria at the show
Wow, I've never seen most of these varieties before. Amazing!
Fantastic pics!
The NARGS speaker tour brought Ian Young to America, and our Minnesota chapter asked him to speak on Fritillaria. A most excellent talk, and a very knowledgeable man, eager to pass on what he knows, continues to learned and his theories. He stayed at my house while he was here, and what a treat! Had he not come, most of these would be new to me too!
Bucharica almost looks Nomocharis-like. No wonder oxypetalum was initially classified as Lilium!
Fritillaria oxypetalum var. insigne
I acquired this plant last year but it was sold as a lilium! I have yet to see whether it will emerge this year..... It's gorgeous.
That's a wonderful mass of F. pudica. It's the first Frit that I was introduced to since it grows here dotted in and amongst the sagebrush.
The F. falcata is stunning! I suspect it's particularly hard to find. I'll have to add this to my list of things to look for.
galanth-- beautiful photography of fascinating plants. (Hope you will add these to plantfiles.)
