How long do flowers last?

I had a couple of brugs bloom last week and the flowers only lasted 2 or 3 days. Is this normal? Also on one of my brugs it only had one flower, and on another brug it had 2 flowers. I got these brugs as cuttings last summer and they are about 3 ft tall now. I have been fertilizing them twice a week.
