ID Help
I could be way off base about this, but you may be able to specifically identify the plant by consulting "The Japanese Hydrangeas Color Guide Book (2000) by Takeomi Yamamoto which you may find in your library. I've been looking in Michael Dirr's "Hydrangeas for American Gardens" and I just don't see one that matches the 4-5 sepals, blue to pink flowers with apparently large leaves, but it still seems to fit the Hydrangea Serrata cultivar. I'm no expert, I just love the plant and attempt to grow them in central Alabama. I'll try another source. I'm certain there are many more knowledgeable growers on the forum. It's a gorgeous plant.
Thankyou for helping, I will look for that book on monday when I can get to library.
we at work think it looks like a pansy;
as you say, someone must be a expert or maybesomeone will just knows it.
