Tell me about your compost pile.

I am getting ready to start my own compost endeavor. I'm looking for ideas and materials.

I already know I won't be using a tumbler. Don't have that kind of cash. Propably a pile type system. I'll be composting chicken droppings(the chickens eat my table scraps so that's already included!) and yard waste.

I probably just need to read a book on the subject anyhow.
