Canna seed source

Dundee, MI

Hi Everyone...I am so glad that this forum is here! All of your postings have been so helpful. I had no idea that there are so many different cannas. My grandmother always had dark red ones against her white stucco fence. They were a real showstopper when they bloomed. I remember dividing them once (without gloves) and my hands became stained and very scratched. Shortly thereafter a job required fingerprints and I had to be re-fingerprinted later after the scratches went away. It was actually noted on my file that I had a gardening injury. HA!
Anyway, I went to the Karchesky link and was simply amazed at the choices for seed.
Would anyone like to recommend other canna seed sources? Starting cannas from seed will be a new experience.
Thank you.

Hi there,

Seeds & More have Marabout. They are a great site with wonderful folks.
You may buy one package or 50+.

I'll be back later with some more sources for you, but my son is willing
to help clean the pond, gotta take a teenager up on that offer quickly!

Here are a few more Canna seed sources for you:

Of course, there is always Ebay. Be sure to check the
seller's feedback, shipping charges, etc. before clicking
that "Buy" button. :-) If you are not looking for anything in
particular, you can get a load of seeds for a song.

If you are looking for bulk, simply type in Canna Seeds 50 or
Canna Seeds 100 and be sure to click the 'search title and
description' button.

Often a seller does not know the cultivar, thus you will find titles
such as 'Red Canna Seeds' or such. This is a good thing if you
don't mind not knowing and just want to grow Canna in general.

Chiltern seeds here have species, I grew C. altensteinii last year, a new species, only got one but it is regrowing now inside, is a double rhizome. Only small yet but exciting!

Tried a link but it came up with the host site with no results, type in

www.chilternseeds.co.uk and put 'canna' in the genus box, it will bring up all the cannas.

That link works.

Thank you very much for your help. I'm writing my list and checking it twice. I hope to have some pictures to share later this year.
