Pale yellows

Langley, BC, BC(Zone 8b)

I'm putting together my order for the year...okay, my FIRST 2006 order. (icon for rueful smile)..

Does anyone have any pale yellows they can recommend??? I love pale yellow, and think there can't be enough of it in the garden; but iris growers, like rose and rhodo growers seem to be in a constant quest for louder, brighter darker.... Not that those colours are bad; they just aren't pale yellow.

All suggestions welcome
thanks

Lemon Reflection

Take a look at these and see if these are what you're looking for.

These sites will let you search by color:

I have ordered from Napa Iris and they have huge rhizomes and are very friendly people. Very good customer service as well. I ordered from The Iris Farm this year for the first time, so I can't tell you anything about the rhizomes or their service.
Hope this helps some!

Deb

Edited to add:

Napa has one named 'Goodnight Moon' that looks like a pale yellow. And only $5.00!

I've ordered from Napa Iris and The Iris Farm. Napa Iris has bigger rhizomes, but they both give good quality.

thanks for the suggestions -- I will check out Napa and the Iris farm, but I am limited to those people who ship to Canada, and, with the added cost of phyto and prep as well as minimum order, I'm hoping to restrict my order to a few places -- I ordered from Malevil and Nicholls in the US last year and from Chapman, Cedar Ridge, Ferncliff and McMillen here. I don't have acres of room, so I am more interested in getting EXACTLY what I want than rock bottom lowest price, though naturally cheaper is better.

I will definitely be ordering from Malevil again, and probably Schreiners or maybe Superstition... but as I confessed at the beginning (by inference) my orders, like Topsy, tend to have "just growed". I am always astonished by the end of the year. Not a fast learner, I guess.

I had forgotten Goodnight Moon, Deb, thanks for the reminder -- the problem with search engines by colour is the descriptions can be quite wonky -- often pitched at what is believed to sell, they exaggerate the degree of saturation in what may be just the iris I'm looking for, hence my asking if people had some they KNEW to be pale.

Weegy's suggestion Golden Immortal is a great example, I had thought it quite dark from a pic I had seen (thanks Weegy) I hadn't heard of Lemon Reflection -- love the name.

thanks again to both of you

I didn't go through his catalog.

Superstition has some lovely ones. You have to write to them for their catalog for prices or you can ask for specific ones. The email address is in the watchdog.
