Just got these-have no clue

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I just got these from Logees and have no clue how to care for them
Should they be repotted?
Should they be in a terrarium?
On a dish with pebbles?
are they dormant?
under lights?
in the greenhouse?

They are
drosera spathulata - sundew
drosera adelae
nepenthes ventricosa
sarracenia -scarlet belle
dionaea muscipula - venus fly trap

I want to have a bog garden outside next to my new pond and would like some in there
Would any of these be alright in it?

I understand they should be in plastic pots
how do I know if they need repotting?
I have been using distilled water for wattering
is this good or bad?

So glad you know that none of them can be planted in the pond. I know there are a few entries in the PlantFiles that claim some Sarracenia can go in a pond but no way.

Your idea to create a self contained bog next to your pond is great and there are several threads here already that will walk you through making a bog step by step. The 'Scarlet Belle' and the Venus Fly Trap can be planted in your new bog outside year round. You might want to mulch them with white pine needles next fall or pick up some polar fleece but many of mine made it without extra care.

In your zone, the Nep and both Drosera you listed will not survive outside year round.

Distilled water is perfect for watering them. I would repot them all. When I get VFTs at this time of year, I pot them in self watering African Violet pots and place them on a window sill until I can plant them outside. I use Canadian Sphagnum peat and well rinsed sand about 2:1. Same deal for the Sarracenia. Once potted, your Sarracenia should probably go outside in your garage by a window for the time being. I'll be moving all of mine out of the garage and onto the patio in the next few weeks. Probably right around tax time but definitely by May 1.

The Nepenthes can be planted in so many different mediums that I think it comes down to personal preference. We use everything from orchid bark mixed with coconut fiber with added bits of horticultural grad charcoal and will be experimenting with rockwool and expanded clay pellets in the future. Some people grow some in pure LFS (Long Fiber Sphagnum). Best to wait for Phil or Craig to make suggestions on a medium for you. Drosera is a fun species and that is another one that has a few different mixes.

Best wishes to you.

OK
thanks for the advice
I went today and bought 3 of the selfwatering AV pots
Will repot this week
Waiting for advice on the the others......

I'm really sorry, people are potting and re-potting right now. This forum will be pretty active once our plants come out of dormancy in about a month or so but right now it's sort of dead over here and I have to go outside and dig some holes.

Here's a thread on how to create a bog for yourself-

On Canadian Sphagnum Peat-

As far as the Pinguicula and the Nepenthes, I'd say for right now why don't you just pot them in straight LFS and please consider using the source provided by philucla because it is superior and cheap-

It's going to be in the 40's today so I need to go outside and dig holes. Have a great day all!
