Vine type plant under pine trees?

Plymouth, WI(Zone 5a)

I'm planning an arbor this summer under pine trees, and would like to plant something to vine over it. I would like to brighten up this dark area and am in zone 5a. Does anyone have any suggestions? Some color back there would be so nice! However, it's shady all the time.

And a pond with a waterfall would be so cool! Need ideas for that too!
Thanks!

One of my favorite vines for the shady area of my house is called Yellow-net honeysuckle. I have found that is a little hard to get going, but once settled it takes off. I love the yellow veined leaves and the flowers smell just like a honeysuckle. It also does really well during the dry parts of summer once established.

LD,
Have you found it to be invasive? I have snow on the mountain under my pines. It does look pretty, however, it comes up in the strangest places!

Have you found by deadheading the plant that that helps contain it?

Thanks!

I have found it just the opposite of invasive, it has been difficult to get established at my place.
