Just as I uncovered my shade garden with the zillions of tulips coming up and the lenten roses unfurling, they're saying we're gonna get snow on Friday. I thought it was going to be an early spring.
Do you think I should cover the tulip shoots w/ floating row covering (remay) or should they be ok?
Any advice would be appreciated.
And think: No Snow!!

Daisy, I don't think the snow will hurt but the cold might.
Let it snow, it will act as a blanket against the cold.
I was sorely tempted to remove the winter mulch Saturday, when it was 60°.
The Tulips are lifting the mulch.
There is another cold snap coming and I'm playing it on the cautious side.
I've had some Day Lilies nipped by cold already.
They were waking up with new growth.
They will be all right.
Like my Grandfather used to say "Don't rush the season".

I don't do very much around here until April first.
I did cut back my Clematis yesterday, though.
I remember the April Fools day Blizzard in the mid 90s.
