Millet 'Jester'

Another one I picked up seeds for. I thought the foliage would be very interesting to use in containers. Has anyone else grown them?

Donna-I just looked it up-very cool! I grew the purple majesty millet 2 yrs ago for a landscaper that put them in a flower bed and I never planted them-but they were very easy to grow. I would definitely tranplant them to a 3.5" pot when they germinate because they do get big fairly fast. My dog kept trying to eat them when I brought them out of the greenhouse because he loves to eat grass! I have to keep an eye on him this year because I have a bunch of ornamental grass going this year-I am glad this reminded me! I will definitely grow this Jester next year-let us know how they do in containers.

Thanks, tigerlily for your input.

My Jester seedlings all succumbed to damp-off, sigh. The Purple Baron ones are doing OK. I'll have to try again when it dries up and the temperature gets somewhere near normal.
