What is the secret of finding a specific iris cultivar such as "Dutch Chocolate"? I have been searching the companies listed in Plant forum and all over the internet with no luck.... Help! I am new with these beautiful plants. No one seems to carry this specific one or "Bit of Chocolate". I want to purchase for a friend by March 9. (or a gift certificate as I know iris do not get shipped until Fall.)

Although this company doesn't have a real good GWD rating, they do have it listed for $3. http://home.att.net/~bluecloudiris_dianne/BCWebHome.htm

This company has it listed for $4 http://www.bluebirdhavenirisgarden.com/tbcatalog/d.html

What I did was google Iris "Dutch Cocolate" I didn't go through the whole list, so if you google it, you may find someplace else that sells it too.

I'm not sure if either of the sites I listed have a current listing for 2006 up yet, so maybe their lists are for last year. However, it would be worth emailing them or calling them to see if they still have it.

Willow bend Iris has one called "Chocolate Vanilla".

Newfoundland, NJ

If you go with BLUECLOUD, please email and see if they are still in business. Don't know.
BLUEBIRD HAVEN is very reliable, and you can email Mary Hess now and ask if DC will be available this year.
Other places which sell it are Riverview and Winterberry Gardens in Va.
