old mags

Hi everone i have a magazine from the second world war call The war in Color.
Was wondering if anyone has heard of it or could tell me were to look for some info on it.Found it years ago in my grandparents atic rolled up and poked inbetween the rafters.
It was published in England in 1942 or 43 its rubed bad in this spot.
The thing that i cant understand is at this time in the war england was bombed so bad how could the publish a magazine and in color no less i hope some one could help.
