Buffalo gourd in colder climate

Muehlleiten, Austria(Zone 7b)

Hello
Some years ago I planted this gourd (Cucurbita foetissima) http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/58001/index.html into my little greenhouse. I use it only in summer because the heating cost was too high in winter. Although the temperatuers in winter up to 0 F, the root does not freeze to death. Every spring it sprouts again and its grayish leaves covers the floor.Unfortunately, it never has bloomed although it is very warm in the greenhouse. Perhaps the vegetation time here are to short?

What are your experiences?

I don't know why they don't bloom...but I will send you new seeds.

They grow wild in abundance here. Jo
