Anyone know the pH of peat moss pellets by Jiffy?

Nope but I'm sure its acidic. Probably around 5 to 6. Peat is like pine needles I use it to acidify my neutral soil. I'm going to a peat site to check.

Peatmoss sphagnum has a very low pH value (only about 3-4). However, the peat pellets you buy (Jiffy) are limed to have a soil pH around 6.5. Don't worry. They should be ok.

Thank you very much. Got this book, "From Seed to Bloom" by Eileen Powell. Love it, I also have propagation book. Getting ready to seed some of them. Others will have to wait next month or two

I tested my peat by the pour-through method several weeks ago and it came out right at 5. SB
