Hi Don, couldn't figure out how to add a photo to the comment on my garden diary about fish scales. On those few occasions when I needed something uniform like fish scales I turned to a couple gouges. The higher the number, 3,5,7,9,etc the sharper the sweep. The picture shows a #7gouge 5/16ths of an inch wide.Various widths and sweeps give you a 'plethora' of opportunities. Hope this helps.
