Chocolate iris

Monticello, MN(Zone 4b)

I am trying to find a beautiful chocolate colored iris. A friend of mine is recovering from cancer and keeps talking about finding a chocolate iris that she saw a few years ago. I would love to know some choices so that I can fulfill her dream. Thanks

A few years ago, there was a discussion on one of the forums about chcolate irises:

CHOCOLATE CUPCAKE and DEATH by CHOCOLATE are two very nice chocolate iris, (although for your friend, the name of the second one may not be a good idea)
And don't forget DUTCH CHOCOLATE which there are some really good photos posted here on the Plant Database.

I was going to recommend 'Death by Chocolate' also because it is an excellent Dwarf with a very noticeable, sweet scent. However, like Sugarbean, I wasn't sure if the name would be appropriate. Here's a picture of it:

Take a look at Huckleberry Fudge, to me, it also has a faint smell of chocolate!

I've been obsessed with one called Chocolate Marmalade for awhile now. This will be my year to buy it:) The chocolates are gorgeous!
