can you please recommend

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I love the Siberian Iris that have flowers that sit way above the foliage. Doesn't matter if the flowers are short or tall, as long as they are clearly distinct from the foliage. For example the picture of Snow Prince Boojum put on the favorite Siberian Iris topic. Can anyone recommend some Siberians with this habit for me. Thank you. Polly

'Shaker's Prayer' is a favorite of mine which grows both VERY tall here (sometimes nearly 4') and blooms well above the foliage.

Thanks Laurie, I like that one! I'm adding that one to my list.

Belinda, thanks, I did look at that thread. I'm just hoping for recommendations for flowers way above the foliage. I guess one has to narrow it down somehow, or they would want them all. There are so many beautiful Siberians out there now. So maybe I can stick to only 20, yeah, right. Polly

laura, i really tried but i couldn't cross any off. i love the ones you and laurie recommended.

polly, i took out 20 daylilies and wanted to plant sibs in their place. i didn't know any thing about sibs. i received aqua whispers in a secret trade and last yr it bloomed, i was hooked. i knew i wanted to add more. i checked out the plantfiles and had a huge list. that was the reason for the thread. i would be interested in your list when you are done. good luck on ordering 20. I found a few on the Joe Pye Weed's Garden website that might fit the bill: Bridal Jig, Pennywhistle, Riverdance and Trim The Velvet.

Belinda, I guess that gets me 1/4 of the way there, LOL.

So a few more suggestions would help, please.....

Thanks, Polly

i have orders for the following: aitken salmon creek (http://www.flowerfantasy.net/), mid gardens american garden (http://www.mid-americagarden.com/), ensata irises
(http://www.mid-americagarden.com/). they haven't updated their websites. i send a order to iris city gardens (http://www.iriscitygardens.com/). maybe you can find what you are looking for at their websites.

Belinda, those all look like good ones. You are such an enabler!

I have to believe the really tall ones like you listed do have flowers well above the foliage, as I've never seen siberian iris foliage that tall.

Thanks everone, and thanks Belinda for the research you did on these for me. I think I have a good start now.
