Do you have to have a pressure cooker?

I am going to start harvesting my semi-hot peppers soon and want to can them. Do I have to have a pressure cooker? And if I do and it is easier what kind do you have or recommend? I have never canned anything in my life. I am going to get the blue book for recipes and of course to know what the heck im doing.
