plants for a north face front garden

Lilburn, GA

Hi!

I am amoving to Lilburn, Georgia next week and want to redesign the front garden (north facing) as it is just grass. The problem is I am new to Georgia and don't know a lot about its climate. Do all plants thrive there?

I am thinking of having these plants on the north face border: irises, climber rose, hardy geraniums, astilbe, clematis... Will they survive and flower in those conditions?

thank you for your help

I want to also chime in about the north facing yard. I situated my home east facing on purpose, but on one end of my house I seem to have a challenge. I have so far been able to grow an hydrangea, a clemitis, ivy, and live-forever sedum (with little blooms). The area I am referring to is the part up against the house where the sun doesn't reach. I really want to add some interest there as a busy drive goes right passed it, but I just don't have enough knowledge to do the job. Has there already been a thread devoted to this? If not, can we make one? Thanks
