Removing a medium size mirror from a wall. Advice needed ...

Farmington, KY(Zone 7a)

Ok kids here is the deal I have an house I'm working on and it has a medium size mirror that is attached to the wall, it has the classic 4 little flower-dy plastic do-dads that hold it on. HOWEVER, I'm guessing it is also glued on too. The home owner wants to perserve the mirror if I can, if it is glued on short of cutting out the drywall does anyone know of a way to remove it saftly. It is not huge, about 3X4 give or take. As I said I'm not sure how it is attached beside the 4 little mirror screws with the plastic flowery things. Is there a cost effective way of melting/softening the glue ... heat gun, iron, big hammer and safty glasses? Any ideas would be great, as I need to get this done ASAP.

TIA,
Dave
