Planted spring of '04 on north side in heavy shade. It has not done well. See no problems other than the lack of sun. Can't find any information on how it will react to relocation now. Don't know if it is one of those types who don't want to be disturbed.
Pieris japonica 'Red Mill'
maigard,
I moved three Pieris (all different varities) in the fall and spring and none have ever skipped a beat. Mine are now in deep shade and very happy but I constantly have to watch all of my Pieris when in begins to warm up for lace bug damage. I treat the shrubs with insecticidal soap and try to stay on top of it while the weather is warm. Well worth the effert in my opinion they are such beautiful shrubs. You might want to wait to move it until later in the winter I am in zone 7a and would move mine at the end of March. Best of luck Katy
Thanks. Glad to know you had no trouble moving your shrubs.
