Help!Colitis & IBS diet: No fat, low fiber, no milk, no soy

Lyndonville, NY

I have recently been diagnosed with colitis of the colon and it is also suspected I have Irritable bowel syndrome. I had a colonoscopy which looked totally normal and healthy, but the biopsies came back abnormal.

The doctor said I can have no fat, very low fiber, no veggies, no fruits, no milk....and I am allergic to soy! No caffiene of course, no sodas (diet or otherwise).

So basically I can have pasta, rice, lean chicken, fish, lean turkey. And plain cereal with 100% free lactaid milk....no oatmeal or anything like that.

Has anyone ever been put on such a restrictive diet, that they can tell me where to look? I have been to the center for colitus and chrons disease web sites, but it isn't much help.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Debbie
