Question about freezing

(Zone 9a)

My daughter is getting married in August. The main dish is going to be ham/chicken/mushroom in an Alfredo sauce. It's actually a lasagna, but I think we are going to substitute fettuccine noodles. I hope to buy things along the way as much as possible. What I need to know is whether or not parmesan cheese can be frozen and for how long? I thought I would buy two or three packs per week, grate it, measure what I need into separate ziplock bags, and then when I am ready to prepare the sauce, it'll be ready to use. We are expecting about 200 people, but we aren't absolutely sure about that yet, so I will be making 20 to 25 of these. Thank you.
