antibiotic treatment for rheumatoid arthritis

I have read a book about low dose tetracycline antibiotic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. The stories about controlling
desease or recovery are remarkable. It's hard to believe that it's possible. Both of my parents have arthritis though not
to the degree of suffering described. So I am wondering if their treatment is wrong.
