Which JM for Containers In Smaller Spaces ?

East Central, MS(Zone 8a)

HI :-)

I've been an avid gardener almost 40 years and into container gardening for the past 10 years ever since I moved into an apartment. I'd like to plant a JM in my patio garden in a 20" diameter pot. Which type of JM should I consider, since space is a problem now and as the plant grows. I am in Mississippi in zone 7b. I grow mostly flowers and a few roses. I have some low growing bamboo and some cannas in 20" diameter pots. I grow coleus and dusty miller in large window boxes & also have caladiums. My only vegetable grown is the habanero pepper and occasionally a bit of okra (although even in a 20" pot there is hardly enough to eat). I grow an occasional fern which is brought in for the winter, along with a few caladiums.

I've considered other plants but I keep coming back to a JM. Any suggestions?

You may want to send an e-mail describing what you want to do to these folks. They run a huge Japanese Maple specialty nursery about 30 minutes from me & are really really knowledgeable about everything & anything having to do with them. They're very nice folks, & I'm sure they'd be willing to give you some suggestions.
