I'm a newbie- built the raised beds last summer, this spring is gonna be my first planting and I just got my seeds! Yea
So now I am trying to read up - on all these posts and the seed packets on when to get started.
The pole beans say to sow outdoors, but I've read a couple of posts here /what would you do differntly next year/ etc that indicate starting indoors is better.
I know timing all depends on your zone- but can someone give me an idea of how long in advance of putting them outside - you started them inside?
thanks tons-
anyone with free advice to a zone 4 Minneapolis novice is appreciated.

Pole Beans indoors
Hmmm. I've started bush-type snap beans inside ahead of time, but never pole beans. I always felt that if there were an unexpected weather problem that delayed my planting them out I'd have problems since they want to grab onto anything & everything they can asap.
I always start my pole beans inside with great results that are better than starting in the garden. I start them as I would any other seed, and transplant the seedling.
