I've been noticing a lot of my mail has unnecessary punction and spelled out states. According to the United States Post Office, your package will arrive more efficiently when addressed without punctuation - except for a hyphen between the zip code and the +4 code. AND that adding that plus 4 code speeds up delivery and you can look this code up on the internet.
