Getting Started On Gourds

My wife and I live in White Plains, NY.

We would like to start plating a few gourds. What is a good source for leading us by the hand for the 1st time?

Thanks. The book in unavailable in Amazon.com, in Barnes & Noble, there is a used one for $1, 211.58 (yes, over 1 grand).
