Howdy All!
I haven't been around much. I crunched my knee cap the week before Thanksgiving. Ouch! Anyway, my brother came out to visit and built me a planting table/box that I could garden at while standing at my walker or cane or sitting in my wheel chair. He just kind of made it up as he went and I think it's fab! It's heavy duty. A definite team lift item. He started out thinking he was going to do some kind of hydroponic system for me but what we ended up with is what you see below. He used water garden plant baskets. He also hooked up an irrigation system to each basket. Here in South Texas where it is so humid and mold and rot are issues I think the baskets will help with root rot but I am not sure what planting medium to use and how to I keep the water from just running straight out? I don't think it would work as true hydroponics because there is no resevoir for the water.
