It's fabric is mesh - it has 6 screened vents - it cost me $127, plus shipping.
Steve
I bought one (cont)
That looks nice. How does the mesh work for holding warmth inside?
Jazz - the entire covering is plastic. Both the green dividers and clear squares are molded together. It retains heat pretty well.
Steve
Ah good. SO it looks like you have a built in shade cloth for warmer days.. Which you would need down South
It looks a little like ripstop nylon for those old down jackets. Does the mesh serve that same purpose?
drdon - not quite sure what you mean by ripstop nylon. I don't think I've seen that kind of material.
Steve
Steve,
Ripstop nylon is fine weave of nylon fabric with a larger thread woven through in a meshwork or grid pattern. The thick threads prevent the fabric from tearing past the grid. Hence "Rip stop" since it stops rips before they get going. I am thinking it was developed by the military but could have been by the camping industry also.
