December weather, God bless you with Merry Gentlewinds.

Oh man, MG, that's coming our way, too.......

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

I think a mass exodus of half-frozen DGers headed south to warmer climates would qualify as a migration.

*eyeing the weather in Houston*

Northwest, OH(Zone 5b)

Well, I think my two choices are migration or hibernation. Finances make me choose the latter. LOL

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

I migrated and still know how to get back to here again too,

currently 58F, overnight forecasted at 39F, should this make me feel warmer than you folks in IA???? I feel like it's 35F, LOL

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

My lifesaver is a thick down comforter, even here. Like an idiot I had the chirmneyremoved and refuse to spend $5,000 for a few weeks of light heat. I have an assortment of space heaters and use them as needed.
Hibernate well Kbaumie.

Oh, but fireplaces/woodstoves have SUCH a nice ambience!

Alexandria, IN(Zone 6a)

My sister and husband have arrived in the McAllen area of Texas for the winter. Another sister will be heading for the east coast of Florida.
I'm a stick at homer.

When I was sent to Fort Polk, Lousiana in the late summer of1957, I thought I would be nice and warm in the deep south...hah It was very chilly much of the time.

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Yes, indy it has taken me half a lifetime to remove that south=warm thought from my mind. You can even be cold in Florida.

I guess it's not as cold as a lot of you have it, actually. I just know I am *very* happy to have the down coat this year. Honestly, this is the first year I can ever remember not being cold when I went outside. The dogs are happier because I'm not out there freezing my butt off grumbling for them to hurry up and do their business. LOL I'm singing the praises of Land's End, I'll tell ya!

It's sooo nice having a long coat -- especially when I get in the van and sit on a frigid leather seat!

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

You bet, I lived a looooong time where that cold seat could make you come off the seat and we wore mini skirts.

GW, you look great in that coat!

Today when I took book boxes to storage, I rummaged through the wardrobe boxes for my old ratty Northface down jacket I've had since 1984. It looks terrible (construction working jacket) but it's warm!

We have some sunshine today! There are times being a nightowl is not such a good thing, like on sunny days in wintertime. By the time I get up (noonish) and have some coffee, there are only a few precious hours of sunlight left. But, in winter, you take what you can get! :)

Maybe the sun wasn't actually shining until you got up.
I have friends that only function well after noon. I made a cross-stitch for one that said "If God had intended for me to see the sunrise, He'd scheduled it later in the day."
Sidney

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

LOVE THAT! I tell people I do occasionally see sunrise, but it's only if I'm still up. Like today, I became engrossed in a novel and didn't finally fall into a coma until about 6:15am. Normally I sleep from about 3:30am-Noon.
