Does anyone know if gophers eat hardy geraniums?

The leaves of Pelargonium spp. are poisonous so I doubt anything other than a diseased or starving animal would try to eat those.
Geranium roots aren't poisonous though.
Gophers have a varied diet that varies with the seasons. They prefer grasses and leafy vegetables but when those aren't available, roots and tubers will do.
I think being that you are in sunny CA, that there is plenty available for a gopher to chow down on without having to resort to geranium roots.
