Dried hydrangeas

Northwest, OH(Zone 5b)

My mom gave me some of her hydrangea cuttings that she'd dried and I had a couple, too. Both of ours ended up being the same color! I love the dark burgundy coupled with the green.

Very pretty :)

I love em. Their so old fashioned and warm looking. :)

How do you get those colors? Mine always turn brown.

Thanks,

I just cut them off the plant when they're that color and they dry that way.

They are really beautiful and that's a good idea to cut them while they still have colour.

I took this picture today down by Lake Ontario.

Browned, but still I like them.

Joan, those ARE pretty! Amazing, because you know you could crush them to bits in a second, yet they survive the elements.

kbaumle, So true. When I look at them up close they are soooo delicate. The bouquet I have inside always has petals at it's feet, which is rather pretty. I've given up trying to keep it cleaned up and just let them lie.
