I'm pretty thrilled.......I usually kill my N.Z.'s.....but this little one I kept indoors, next to an open window.......the temp drops.......it put on buds, and I'm ecstatic!!

Now you have an inkling of how we feel up here in Zone 5. We have to bring hundreds of tropical potted trees and Agaves in every winter! But it's worth it, especially when some reward you like that.

I never appreciated my climate until I started gardening. I couldn't imagine starting fresh every year, which is what I'd have to do as I don't have the space for a bunch of plants in my living room. I still have some things that die off (passion flower - sob!) but it could be that I made a booboo and not the climate to blame.

I'll have to check out the nz's at my nursery, as I'd love to have one.
