What a little idiot, hatching her eggs in Fall. She's never experienced the cold of winter, being just a spring chicken herself.
We thought her eggs were infertile, same as her "twin" sister's dud eggs, so, we humored her, as she sat on the nest in mid-October. All 6 of her eggs hatched, to our surprise.
The night they hatched, Nov 4, was cold, windy, and very rainy. So we took them indoors. Tomorrow they're going outdoors to a heated pen.

Rooster: Polish Crested, black w white plumage
All the babies are black like the father, but I wonder, what will these chickens grow up to look like?!
