Paint Techniques -Suggestions Please Please Please

Columbus, OH(Zone 5b)

I'm in the process of transforming my office in to an opus.
In other words an area that is less about work and more conducive to creativity.

I had a fantastical vision to paint the walls a rich brown then using painters tape
write words and quotes pertaining to the creative process of writing.

After applying the masking tape to my freshly painted brown walls, I planned to paint over it all a rich burgundy.
In my mind I could see how absolutely awesome it would look after the tape was removed and the quotes revealed.

The first quote I wanted to start with would wrap around the upper portion of all 4 walls
"A poem begins as a lump in the throat."
Robert Frost

Enter problem....

Blue painters tape:
Is mostly too wide to use for all but the largest letters.
Will not curve to form cursive letters.

Electrical tape:
Will curve some
Left for over a couple of hours it starts to peal off
The part that doesn't peal takes chunks of paint with it when removed

*sigh*

Any suggestions?
What kind of tape do you recommend?
Any sources for thinner blue tape?

I'm hoping some crafty person here will be able to point me in the right direction...!

Cheers,
Dovey
