What effect does Western Red Cedar Mulch have on soil PH? Does it lower the PH as I suspect or am I way off base here? There is a "mulch and soil council" that supposedly certifies the naming and uniformity of mulch products but they don't offer the gardener any info on the effects of muclhes on soil. I wish someone in the industry would get wise and put the ph effects on the bag.
