rooting curly willow

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

I stuck some branches of curly willow in a bucket of water hoping to get some good roots. Should I strip the branches of leaves? They are easy to root, right? What next? Pot when? thanks.

It has been my experience that you can just stick curly willow branches in soil and they will root. For the fastest rooting I use damp vermiculite; that way they will put out roots within 2 weeks for me.
Willows are so easy I do not think you need strip the branches of leaves (except the part under the water or soil). Some will fall off the cut branch naturally so do not worry if you see some falling.
