Just put in two Sky Rocket Junipers as "gate posts" at the entry to my garden. We have heavy snows in this area, and I'm wondering if I should tie the junipers into vertical sausage shapes for the winter. Will the snow open up the branches and ruin their vertical form?

Sky Rocket Juniper - to tie or not to tie?
I wouldn't think so. A restaurant near here has a row of Skyrockets that must be about 20' high at least, & even if we don't get the snow you do, we do get a lot of short-term heavy wet snow & frequent ice storms in the winter. These trees have retained their form beautifully.
JulieKane, these Junipers are pretty tough and shouldn't need any help.
Thanks, Breezyneadow and rcn38. I'll just give them words of vertical encouragement this winter, then. I've never liked the look of trees and shrubs in bondage anyway. - Julie
