Firefox - Bookmarks not displayed on Bookmarks Toolbar

I have the Bookmarks Toolbar displayed and I have added favorite sites to the Bookmarks Toolbar Folder but the sites are not showing on the Bookmarks Toolbar. When I try to drag and drop I just get the slashed-circle icon indicating that it is not allowed. How do I get the items in the Bookmarks Toolbar Folder to display on the Bookmarks Toolbar?
