Fruit from this spring finally fell off,hard as a rock,will it ripen up or get softer?
Or should I crack it open with a hammer???

If it fell of the vine, it should be pretty close to ripe. It will not soften until the fruit inside rots.

I've yet to open it,will this weekend,if I can find my hammer and chisel!!!! LOL
