experience with Blue Crusader?

has anyone grown this iris? I've ordered it from Ferncliff, picking up tomorrow, but can't find out too much else to supplement an obviously oversaturated picture.

thanks Tazzy. I was less than specific in my original question. Ferncliff (and Schreiners btw) do give the basic: colour date bloom time height. I was just wondering if anyone had grown this iris and had some info on what kind of a "doer" it was.

I dont have it .

I have grown 'Blue Crusader'. It was an average grower for me~not bad, but not outstanding. That being said, the bloom is a gorgeous shade of blue, very large and nicely ruffled. I think you'll enjoy it.

thanks both. I have a huge order ready for Schreiners next year, but their deadline for Canada is in July (sigh) so I am just picking up a bit here and a bit there...

Tazzy, your info was NOT unhelpful. Ever notice how often descriptions ( and not just of iris) wax poetic about the colour and never utter about the height or bloom season. so you can plant together two plants one pale white edged blue, one deep blue; one paler blue a nice combo,no? except they bloom two months apart with no overlap and anyhow the one you put in front is taller.

Christophere Lloyd is very funny about this (concerning tulips) in, I think, the Adventurous Gardener.
