Showing off my celosia

Port Lavaca, TX(Zone 9a)

When I was a kid my mom and grandparents had celosia or cockscombs as they called them. I planted several different kinds and have really enjoyed them. I love how this one looks when the sun is shinning on it.

Very nice, but then it is red, I love all things red. I have never tried these, are they difficult?

Lenjo, No they were not hard to grow. My neighbor brought me these plants in a 6 pack that she bought from someone who had grown seeds. The flowers below are plants that came from Walmart seeds. The package said "Dwarf" and they were 20-24 inches tall! The only problem I've had is some kind of little worms that like the leaves.

I've saved the seeds from the largest heads of Red Velvet from Burpee's for many years. They are striking and huge.
