Tree Peony

AuGres, MI(Zone 5b)

I have a tree peony that aborted it's blooms now for two years in a row. I had 6 healthy looking buds on it this year and was excited as the blooms are huge on this plant. The first one semi opened and the others never did open.

Any suggestions as to why or how I can fix this for next year?

Did you stray or dust it, I have found i can't dust mine till after they bloom because of the ants. Not sure why the ants make them bloom but they do. I made the mistake till a friend told me not to dust or spray the ants, the next year they bloomed. Mike

No I never spray or dust the peonys. My regular peonys all bloomed beautifully. It's just this Japanese Tree Peony that seems to have a problem.

How lucky you are to have Peonys. I have seen them in Florida, but have not been successful in growing them, myself. Nothing is prettier than Peonys- for sure.
