Lovely Datura needs a name.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I found this plant at the produce market for $1.99. The plant was small but had a bud so I was curious to see what i would get. This is the flower, isin't it beautiful? White with purple edges.
Can anyone tell me the name?

frostweed: it's gorgeous, that's what I call it, but no, sorry to say I can't say, is it purple on the undersides or white? if it's all white top and bottom with just a hint of purple on those tendrils I would lean towards a datura metel in a double form.

Interested in swapping seeds? Here is one of my datura metel black currant swirls this year, see how they have the purple on bottom of bloom?

Yes Laurrie, I would love to swap seeds, but I don't have any yet, probably this fall.
Your flower is beautiful too, they are amazing. Mine had a greenish underside streaked with purple, very unusual, I will try to take a picture of the underside when I get another bloom. The plant is only 12 inches tall, so it is very small.
Thank you for your response.

I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to name it.

Just letting you folks know that mine are setting seedpods, but no way near ripe yet, I know I will have to dig and pot up to bring inside to finish the ripening process :(

I will be glad to share when the seeds are ready. My seedpods are very small compared to other Daturas too. I should have a new bloom opening tonight, probably the last of the season. I will be in touch. Your Datura is beautiful too, Jackie.
