I have a Ramona clematis that is growing on the side of my arbor gate. She is beautiful every spring, but not so lovely right now. What are her pruning requirements? Can I shape her up, or will she only bloom on old wood. I just need some basic guidance, cause I don't want to do anything to harm her! She is very happy where she is, but the brown, crispy leaves and stems are unsightly!
