My seedlings have finally bloomed, despite my pinching them back. Now I'm not sure what they are!
This one (of two) is at the cottage, has many blooms and buds and is about 3' tall from the soil line. The blooms are buff-coloured and vaguely fragrant but not in a pleasant way. The one at home is pictured in the datura forum -- some of you will recognize the setting (and the pot!). It has only one bloom and drops other buds before they even get to 1/2" long. It's awfully crowded with those cannas -- I had no idea they would get so big!
Shucks, I was really hoping for an exotic fragrance to go with the tropical look!

Brugmansia or Datura?
Nice looking datura. Love the foliage on it.
thats really a pretty datura to, double? lovely..
Hi Andy,
She sure is pretty, I love all the double datura's. Your's is exceptional!
Goodness Andy, I do love that color! Wanna swap seeds later?
Laurrie
Andy , the fragrance comes at night , daytime they smell like a wet cat lol
i hope you will swap seeds when you get some.
WOW what a color.
One way to tell the difference even before they flower are the leaves which are different but the flowers Daturas are upward pointing while Brugs always hang downward.
Way cool, not seen or witnessed it until now, thanks for sharing Shirley, that is a beautiful flower too btw :-))))
Hugs
Julie
Which one is that Shirley, I like it.
Shirley, that is really neat! Interesting too....
Linda, it is a seedling I grew for Kell last year. I want to see it bloom and rain at the same time. I'm sure rain will ruin it.
Love the color of this one. Want to trade seeds on this one????
Got seeds for the triple yellow, purple and double white.
