Thanks! I only had a bloom here and there this year and I was told here at DG that maybe this plant was waiting to surprise me with a lot of blooms next year. I sure hope so.
Very healthly looking don't cut it back.
I didn't know hydrangeas should be mulched with pine straw until I became a member of DG. I hadn't mulched mine at all for years and heard on a radio show that it had to be. I put plain straw on it after that. But, as luck would have it, we have a row of white pine trees and this winter it will be mulched correctly. I don't want to wish my life away, but I can hardly wait till next spring now and summer isn't even over, yet.
