Dirt cheap and lazy, too!

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

This year I made a raised bed garden 3 feet from our back door porch. This was the site of Judy's compost heap for the last five years so was home to several volunteer plants -- potatoes, watermelon, squash and, of course, tomatoes. But, I squared off the area with garden timbers (on sale at Lowes...) and dumped in some bags of 98 cent top soil. Lowes had some "stressed" Arkansas Traveler tomato plants, and Judy had traded for some seeds (Tomatoes, squash, cukes, hot peppers...) so we're talking CHEAP! Lazy also because I can grab the "fruits" of our labor on the way in from the car.
