Just a Little While Ago...

I was driving home, and in the middle of the road, was what looked like a baby bird...it was just becoming light, and I almost didn't see it. I stopped the car, and got out to look...and sure enough, it was a fully feathered baby, just sitting square in the middle of the street! He still had fuzz on the top of his head....he squacked, real loud when I picked him up...not sure what kind of bird he was...I didn't have the camera with me, and I toyed with the idea of bringing him home, where the camera was, to take some pictures...but I nixed that idea. His parents were probably around, so I took him, out of the street, and put him inside a hedge....I bet he could fly if he put his mind to it. He didn't appear injured, maybe he was just resting...it was just starting to rain and the road was nice and warm, but he would have been hit...I almost ran over him, and I was looking! I hope he makes it, he was kind of cute, one of those things that is so ugly, it is cute....
